Nicholas (Nick) Jackman, CPO, USCG (Ret.)
Served in the U.S Coast Guard 1974-94, his tour of duty included serving aboard the Coast Guard’s 1st Jet Powered cutter CGC Hamilton (WHEC-715), the 1st turbine powered Icebreaker CGC Polar Star(WAGB-10) making 1 trip Artic Circle,2 Operation Deepfreeze to South Pole, He also served on CGC Glacier the Icebreaker that served as Medal of Honor recipient Adm Byrd’s flagship during the 1st Operation Deepfreeze 1955, Nick made 2 more Operation Deepfreezes. He also has seen duty as a Recruiter, Light House Tender, Housing Supervisor. Retiring in Seattle he is currently employed as the Facilities Manager for the King County Housing Authority. A Life Member of AVER, He has served as Chapter Secretary, Chapter President of Puget Sound Chapter and was elected as National Secretary in 2010.He is the Immediate Past President of the Puget Sound Chapter. Nick resides in Shoreline, WA with his partner of 22 years, who he married in 2013.They have an adult son and an 8 y/o English Bulldog Dahlia. He is a cruise addict having just completed #29 around Cuba in 2016.
